Back Facade of an Apartment Building

By nonur
The municipality is demolishing old houses in the central part of the city to build new ones. For the time being the openings are being used as car parking lots .
This photo was taken in one of those gaps as was the previous.

Thank you all folks for the much appreciated clicks and kind comments on my previous upload! I am especially thankful to Billy (williamsloan) and Peter (Mollycat) for their User Awards.

Probably cheaper to demolish and build new than try to upgrade these old buildings. Some nice colour and textures in this.

The surroundings look so clean despite the state of the buildings conditions. Well captured.

The business of urban renewal and upgrading is an ongoing and challenging one, Nezih ! What was once the height of luxury, through time, is outmoded. The problem is what do you do with the people in the meantime ? Regards Martin

Always fascinating, these architectural studies of yours, Nezih. It is interesting to note the far better state of preservation of the topmost apartments, rather as if the renewal would be confined to the floors below.

Great find and capture my kind of image too . I love the colours and 'rich' penthouse contrast.i was told when in Corfu town that the top floors were all occupied by wealthy people and the ground floors basements by poorer people but then with tourism it all swapped round as the lower floors became sought after for shops and restraunts and the higher floors noisy and unwanted- so know it is the opposite way round there and the higher floors are often neglected.

Ramshackle buildings give such a variety of colours and textures as in this fine shot. Well done you for capturing this before it disappears.
