Backlight White

By Julian
Backlit Large White butterfly on Bluebell. Not many of the flowers are open yet but if ...if we get some sunshine again soon all will be a carpet of blue. I like the way the White colours were echoed int eh background. Comments appreciated as always..

All the subjects colours are echoed in the background and with the backlighting they combine to produce a very pleasing effect. I love the spots being made visible and you've got very good clarity overall - most evident in the large version.

welcome back to e2! Smile

Thanks Matt. It's strange what unusual conditions can throw up. Never really expected the colours to be so similar. I still find problems with E2. All the sharpness I get on my monitor seems to disappear, even tho it shows as 1000 pix on photoshop. Duh!

You've captured this little beauty in such excellent light, glad to see that it is on a bluebell and not one of my cabbages!

This one sneaked in somehow while I wasn't looking.Don't think I've seen a shot like this of a Large White before.

The backlighting really lights up those wings to show the eye spots coming through magnificently.

I might have been tempted to crop a bit off the top of the shot. Then we could see the butterfly a bit bigger in the 1000 pixel limit as an added bonus.

The background is excellent. Looks like you've been borrowing one of Tim's Provence specials. The colours look too good to be 'ours'! Smile

This really is spectacular Julian. Even without the tight crop it's just a great blend of colour and perfect background. I particularly like the lemon colour of the backlight through the butterfly.

Looks like a Julian shot to me!

Well done!

Tim
