A great black backed gull (
Larus marinus) on Skokholm.
Definitely the bad boys of the island. I left a comment on Moira's (mrswoolybill) upload about manx shearwaters being killed and turned inside out - this is one of the culprits (though the lesser black backs account for more). The version is what these also take (young ones go down whole).
Enjoyr your supper.
When walking near or theough a gull colony a monopod is useful. In the immortal words of Corporal Jones,
they don't like it up 'em.
Thank you all very much for your votes and comments on
Puffin with a Twig, and for the UAs from Lilian, ladynewbury, iangilmour, legend 147, davenewbury and dales.
