BAN GIOC WATERFALLS (2)

By JN_CHATELAIN_PHOTOGRAPHY
This beautiful serene site was one of the crossing points for the invasion of Vietnam in February 1979 by the Chinese Red Army which led to a short conflict between the two countries lasting a month.

During the wet season the falls are supposed to be very impressive. The photo was taken in early May this year in the dry season but the waterfalls still made an impression on me.

The people you can see on the right of the waterfalls are in China.

The falls still look impressive in this drier season: what a beautifully balanced composition with wonderful detail and colours.
Your series of images from Vietnam have been quite an eye opener for me.......such happy smiling folk and a beautiful land........somehow not at all what I had imagined.
Ronnie.

Love the poodle-perm water, that's how I see water cascades.

Really good to see these places so peaceful.
I followed the war & have also watched and read various films/books about the conflict.
Thank god it ended

Strange to think that just across that beautiful stretch of water lies another country. Lovely shot. Moira

It is difficult to imagine such beauty being disturbed by war...
