Bang

By Pete
Another from last weekend's Call to Arms event at Rockingham Castle. This is the only canon fire I managed to capture. It's not easy covering your ears while trying to press the camera shutter. So I chose to press the shutter instead. My ears were whistling for a while after several of the nearby guns fired. Hope you think it was worth it though Wink

Great action photograph! Hope that your ears are healed by now. Any chance of getting rid of the blue lines in the background? Without them, the scene is very, very real!

Great timing, and the foreground smoke adds a lot of atmosphere.

That's usually caused by a large gap between two narrow apertures.
Wink

I reckon this would've been better if you'd laid on your tummy and had them fire over your head.

Shame about the man in the black shirt and the low branch which seem out of place I think...?

Great capture though - full of smoke and atmosphere, a bit like being in The Endeavour pub at Whitby...

Hopefully im going to this event this year, the flame from these little beasts can travel 15 feet, More dangerous to the crew than the people they fired at.
