Bang Bang Your Dead

By cameracat
Hi folks,

Thought it was time for a change, Life is not all pretty sunrises & sunsets, Or filled with the sounds of birdsong....Sad

The aeroplane buffs will no doubt recognise this " North American P51D Mustang " .....Grin

Its a very shiny example of this legendary aircraft, So shiny infact, That we sometimes forget what it was designed for...!

This particular aircraft was shot down over France on 13th August 1944, Her pilot was killed attempting a crash landing.

Some 60 years later she is flying again, The markings on the side indicate targets destroyed by this aircraft before the 13th August 1944.

Kinda kills the romance a little, Fabulous flying machines for sure, But thier reason for being is to kill, Something we should not forget.

Regards
Vince

fantastic image with a geat dof.
Interesting to see the flags on the side of the plane, presumable they are a tally of kills,
Would love to know where you shot this pic,
