Barking

By mrswoolybill
I donít often upload under Digitally Modified, and when I do it tends to be a picture taken with a deliberate intention of playing around. This started life as birch bark, on the shore of Kielder Water. That red is 100% natural, by the way, I havenít touched saturation.
Iím enabling Mods in case anyone else feels like playing with V2, the original. Shot simply cropped to get rid of background.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Fantastic effect. Reminds me of some 70s wallpaper I had in my doll's house that always fascinated me - or ink patterns that covers note books.

Your manipulation works well Moira but the original is just as good. Just can't resist doing a mod!

A fabulous effect in V.1, Moira, excellent work. Birch has such beautiful bark, so it is good to see it 'au naturele' in V.2. Carol

An excellent abstract image, Moira...would never have guessed what it started out as! The original V2 makes a great abstract image, too.

Good imagination here for the abstract Moira, however i think I will go with the more conventional version two.

A super abstract. I like it very much, especially as you "saw" it when you took the original.

The original is my favorite, and I agree that the horizontal works better for this.

Plenty scope here for these mods Moira. And a rather attractive original too.Like you,I am not really one for playing around in PS.I reckon one reason is that I can imagine it would be rather addictive !!

Back for a quick visit, I'm in the middle of the town's Britain in Bloom portfolio, dozens of pictures of flowers and gardens... Thanks to everyone, and Willie I definitely prefer the second of your Mods.
