Barn Owl - evening side-light

By philhomer
Most folk including my own 'mentor' John Wright generally shoot with the light behind them - i think variety is key and although the side lighting here left two choices i) have highlights ii) under-expose personally i think it works, despite losing the potential for catch-light

this again is NOT wild but taken on one of our workshops - took Barn Owl down to local churchyard, again to offer variety of images to our attendees, try suggesting that at Hawk Conservancy or Barn Owl Centre Wink

opinions and critique always welcome

A different and very appealing Owl image - well done. It is light that allows us to see and there are many ways of seeing. A

Charmingly composed. I love the mix of light and shade. It works a treat.

Am I missing something here?

This is a bit below the belt isn't it. You have no respect at all, yes I am offended, put this on top of the cheque you bounced on our charity for the Photo day we provided you & your guests, you not a very nice person are you.

Your mentor is teaching you well!!!!!!

I have not attempted to have the above removed as Vince is completely right - the comment is not in any way justified and should not have been posted. Yet again i have made a mistake by posting something without thinking - not a first for me sadly. Actually I am a 'nice person' but on occasion something of a pratt (which is different) - and moreso on forums such as this one.

Many venues are completely inflexible in their approach but visits to Vince's Barn Owl Centre have always been excellent, accommodating and full of great set-ups and images. Vince has also always been very very generous regards timing in that we have completely over-run allotted time into evening light with no quibbling from Vince or staff.

However, my mistake should not reflect on the otherwise good name of my mentor, and as we have already discussed a number of times - our accountant and bank statements show us having paid twice for the day in question.
