Barn Owl Study

By ReidFJR
One of the four barn owls at Eagle Heights - i was trying to get a side portrait against the dark barkground of the owl box. Im sure others may have cropped differently so would be interested to find out.........

Lovely looking capture Frank, although on my (calibrated) monitor it looks a little dark?

Good profile portrait of this beautiful owl. I imagine the light conditions on the owl box were poor, but anyway the important parts of the face have good detail.

Yes, looks a little dark to me too; but maybe that's how you mean it to look. In any case it gives it atmosphere and doesn't detract from the wonderful detail and quality of the shot.

Beautiful bird, beautiful shot with great detail, maybe a smidge dark but I think it suits the subject, being nocturnal and all.

Like it - I don't know whether the dark look was deliberate but I actually think that it's effective as it is - you can't win them all Smile

I'd have probably added more black...being a fan of lots of black space! Lovely profile shot with good detail.
