Barnstable Stingers

By chrisrudland
Bracketed shots taken at -1 0 +1 and put together with Photomatix Pro Beta 4 straight from the Raw CR2 files. I really like this HDR stuff and anything that gives me an option not to put other things in front of my quality glass (like Grad filters) interests me.

I think it was Keith.H who said a while ago though it is important to get the exposures right. I have noticed that on my + ones I must avoid any burn outs and overexposure as it creates much more work, on the - ones its essential to get them correct or you begin to introduce massive amounts of noise when you do the HDR generation and you lose detail in the shadows.

I have learnt to use my histogram to much better effect lately. Levels and curve applied with PS.

This HRD's all a bit of a mystery to me, Chris, but when I look at an image like this I can see why it appeals. Very, very impressive indeed. I love your adoption of the low angle to emphasize the impact of that remarkable sky. Exceptional stuff.
