This series were taken yesterday at a place called Beeleigh Water, near Langford, Maldon, Essex. It is where the rivers Chelmer and Blackwater meet.
I am notoriously wrong when I try and name damsel flies and dragon flies so if any one can confirm the identities I would appreciate it. V2,3,4 are the same type and I believe are Banded Demoiselles
Wonderful green tones in v1, Russell. No idea when it comes to these insects though.
Beautiful images with the most stunning details and colours!
They are all Banded demoiselles, V1 the female and Vs2,3 and 4 males, they are having a very good
year in a lot of areas, very well captured.
Well captured a beautiful damsel fly. Ted
A wonderful set of great images of the Banded Demoiselle as identified correctly by David.
Great set, Russell, particularly No 1.
Excellent finds Russell and V1 is exceptional - a truly lovely wildlife image.
No1 nice and sharp for me.
Excellent captures. Carol
