Beach Stories

By LynneJoyce
Ansel and I are going to revisit the beaches of Northumberland very soon so it is time to post some images from my last visit.

I was tempted to title this post 'Sandy Sunday' but thought better of it because this post is all about the stories that beaches tell us when we look carefully. Waves sculpt the sand, every creature leaves a record of its visit, and every vehicle that ventures on the beach leaves its tell tale signature. Each high tide washes away the previous 12 hours' stories so that new ones can be left. The seasons and the weather add different colour washes to add interest and variety.

The opener and V8 are big pictures showing beautiful, long beaches up there. The rest show smaller and more detailed sections of the beaches. The vehicle imprints evidence a very poorly Seal being rescued while I was there.

Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of these coastal tales.

Had a holiday at Seahouses once - what wonderful empty beaches there.

Love your lead and the high horizon line in V8 - excellent.

Also love the artistic V1 and V13.
Lovely set Lynne.

Amazing how many different patterns and things to see on a beach if we take the trouble to look down. Great collection here, Lynne 👍

Hi Lynne
love this set of images 13 being my favourite for the composition and placement of the Lug worm cast and coral?.
Its a part of the world I know well and love it in the winter when all tourists have gone although there are still plenty visitors in the winter, mostly waders and other migratory birds. Light is fantastic also. Will be visiting next week.
Regards Harry
