Beacons for hope

By sherlob
I've uploaded a similar image to this before - a slightly different composition cropped to a square format. However, I when printed I realised that my processing wasn't all that it should have been (note: I often see flaws in an image when printed which went un-noticed on the screen, and believe this to be a good argument in favour of printing). This time I have processed the image making use of luminosity masks to selectively adjust areas of brightness and I am happier with the result overall (and the print looks considerably better too).

Earlier this year I offered to donate a print to a local charity event raising funds for our local hospice. I thought to use this image. It has particular meaning for me: taking this image helped bring me hope at a particularly difficult time. Perhaps, just perhaps, it might do the same for others - even if it just helps raise a few pounds for the hospice.

Have a wonderful Sunday,

Adam

Beautiful light, love the ripples in the sand in the f/g. Hope it raises funds for the hospice.
