Beast under the Cap

By pdunstan_Greymoon
This location was so quiet and serene, yet hidden under this ice cap of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier is one of the largest volcanoes in Iceland...Katla!
This volcano normally erupts every 40–80 years and the last was in 1918 so it is well over due. It is also massively larger than Eyjafjallajökull, which caused the big air traffic shut down in Europe 2010.
