Bee Orchid

By PaulLiley
The inside of a Bee Orchid. Taken in our locality. The yellow droplet (central) is what waves in the wind like a pendulum and attracts the bee picking up the pollen then transfers it to another bee orchid thus cross-pollinating the plant. Isn't nature fascinating?

A well named variety of orchid, and so beautifully captured, Paul: and I agree, nature is amazing the way plants have evolved to ensure pollination and survival, and all the little tricks they have up their floral sleeves.
Ronnie.
Very good close up, with wonderful colours, details & the selective focusing is excellent

I used to go hunting for these in the New Forest, mostly without success.
I don't always see it in images, Paul, but I can definitely see the little face in yours, like a laughing jesterGrin!
