Before the Falkirk wheel.

This is the Anderton boat lift. Built in 1875 and used until Uncle Corrosion got hold of it in 1983. A restoration of this interesting place means that people today can see how far thinking engineers back then were, ok, there were a lot of problems to overcome, but no gain without pain, both physical and financial.
An interesting trip out when you're allowed to travel again.
