LIFE BEFORE INSIDE PLUMBING VIEW LARGE IF YOU HAVE TIME
THE SETTING IS AN IRISH FARMHOUSE IN THE 1960's. THE ITEMS THAT YOU SEE WERE AVAILABLE IN THE 60's. I WAS THERE IN THE 60's, AND WE DID HAVE A BLUE PLASTIC BASKET. THE SINK WAS USED AS A SLUICE.
This for me is the best shot on your PF Gerry...
Absolutely fantastic capture and tells a story ~ Thanks for sharing
Nice image well captured.
What a stunning image, Gerry, if I had to choose it would be V3 but all versions are superb.
Ah! Those were the days, or so I've heard!! Real bit of history, though how on earth did you capture it? Can't be many situations in which to see, never mind photgraph this!
amazing - like a step back in time, as Ann said - where on earth did you get this one from? not a nice thought of emptying it into the kitchen sink >>>> eeeewwwww......
V1 for me - this is truly a great photo - a little chunk of history - love the dressing gown....looks like my Nana's!
Very good, I saw a play the other night based in Ireland where the old lady kept pooring her pee down the sink. It didn't go down well. Great post processing. V1 stands out for me but I enjoyed the others too.
v1 works really well. very good photo. one thing though. it is over sharpenened (V3 even more)
edit : V4 is about perfect
I love 'em all but v3 does it for me today!!!
I love them all, but I'd prefer V1 and V3. V3 relates a better sense of time than the normal B&W.
Excellent processing and anyone of *an age* will recognise a scene like this...brilliant !!
cracking set gerry v1 for me too today nice one
Yea... and it still works.
I love this, it's extremely nostalgic as I can remember those days as if they were yesterday. Andy
V3 for me
V1 is superb - the natural colour really adds to this image, which has rich tones and so much detail.
All are superb but if I had to chose it would be ver3
Excellent Image you got here,V4 for me,Great Detail you work with A1 ------Milky
Version 1 is superb not sure about the manipulations but V1 is a stand alone masterpiece.
V4 for me, a great set of images
Where on earth did you get this from! V3 puts it in the right era.
Superb shot of "times gone by", Gerry - many congrats. on GEA and the UAs. Very well deserved.
version 1 for me, the colours add to this picture and feel that although its a good picture in mono the pink bathrobe and green bin say allot in them selves
Don't know where you got this from Gerry but it's certainly up there with your best work. V1 has lovely colours, tones and textures. V2 looks a bit flat and v3 has a 'gritty' quality but the bright light in the window and walls might be a little distracting as the texture has been lost.
Personally I would stick to V1 although I'm sure that with your talent you could still make a great B&W image from it if that's what you wanted to do.
Well done mate
Excellent work love the details and colours in version 1, well done on the GEA.
Wonderful shot!!! V! and V3 for me.......this is great!
Cracking set of shots.
V3 works well for me.
Nice. I thingk I prefer the colour version strangely. But you do get the sense of life a long time ago even so...
Brilliant image Gerry - V's 1 & 2 for me
Excellent images. I think V1, seems year ago, did they have plastic back then? ...............Sandy
Good set. I think I'm on my own in actually preferring V4!
An absolute cracking set. V1 for me. Lots of 'human interest' content etc.
Amazing capture Gerry. V1 outstanding. Strange to think that as short a time ago as the 1960's there were homes in the UK with no indoor toilet!
Ah the old fashioned 'guzunder'.
Great shot well captured and presented.
Congratulations on the GEA.
Beautifully crisp and 3D appearance.
V1 for me and this is an outstanding piece of work. A
its a cracker, congrats on the awards.lesley

Hey Gerry, Congrats on POTW amazing image well done!
This brings back some memories, we had an outside one next to coalhouse. great set of images, well done.
As everyone has said above - the tones and colour on this are fantastic. I guess the post processing has a lot to do with it but you have to have a good exposure to begin with. John
I saw this on the EPZ front page and am so very impressed! This is simply excellent, emotional, thought-provoking imagery. Very well done mate.
Great Image, plastic bin out of place though! Still love it........Tony
A very worthy winner of all it's Awards Gerry.
My compliments on a wonderful piece of imagery.
A picture can talks...in many languages. I love it and can enjoy the nuance...

Fabulous image - a wonderful slice of life. So well deserving of all the awards.
A fantastic image. I love how it tells a story. Congrats on all of the awards.
Wonderful image, congrats on all the awards
worthy of all awards
Very nostalgic, I like v3, it has the look of a news paper or magazine print. Black and whites tell the story better than the coloure'd versions.
P.S. This image reminds me of images you get in the Peoples Friend, a magazine the lady in the image might have read while sitting in front of the fire with a cup of tea, at the same time getting lazy tartan on her leg.
Sorry but your image took me down memory lane.
Quote: I guess the post processing has a lot to do with it
I thought it was more to do with the the pot processing.
Enjoyed this very much.
What a wonderful image, absolutely outstanding. V1 for me, love the colours.

What can I say but WOW. the colour, lighting and tone are spot on.
There is no need for are written word as the viewer can peel back the story line and layers of this image with there eyes.
