Award Shortlist

By whatriveristhis
New and very extensive broadleaved woodland planting by the Woodland Trust, with public access, on the outskirts of Durham.
It's good to see that not quite everywhere is being turned into characterless housing estates ( like the small one I live on BlushBlush )

A big thank you to Bill, carmen, Colin, Kate, Dougie, George, and Tracey, for giving the Rook their awards.

you know, it's one thing to do a landscape with sunset and saturated colors - that's easy - it's just there - all you need to do is know how to use a camera. but what you do is feel the landscape and then we feel it too. that's different. that's art. =)

I just want to run through those grasses - Carmen has summed up your style so well.

A excellent mono image AlanGrinGrin

I'm positive can see some colour on these leaves, monochrome with a difference. Wink

I think you've done it again, the simplest of images and it's very very good.

Carmen's comment is spot on. This is about textures, mood, light. Superb. I'm particularly enjoying the precision of those saplings' leaves against the drift of the grass.
