Behind Bars

By pamelajean
My offering for Saturday Shadows.

Thanks to LynneJoyce, I now know that this is a security reja (iron screen) in front of shutters, found in the same place as my last one ("Shutter Shadows"), a little Spanish village called La Pinilla where there was very little else of photographic interest.
Two versions, V2 being a black and white version.

I don't usually air my health problems on the site, but found Mikbee's comment amusing. He said that I was on the growing list of members having health scares on the site, and that perhaps photography is bad for your health !! I do hope not.

Spot the deliberate mistake......I uploaded this on a FRIDAY! Thanks, Adrian.

There I was, wondering what a b/w would look like and Voila, there it was. I like V1, colour best but was interesting to see V2........Sandy

Colour for me, Pamela, super shadows. Don't think photography is causing all the health problems, just that horrible thing called 'old age' creeping up on a lot of us Wink Carol

I'm with the colour version too - that green is beautiful.

Amazingly well executed - either version - V1 is my preference simply because I tend to gravitate to B&W with color added, but the B&W still shows the grate distinctly from the background - difficult to do.
Another super strong shadow image.. v1 today for me on balance

šv1 for me too, the colour separates the bars from the shadows, nice work.

Green and white is an excellent combination, and it gives more depth on this image as well, Pamela.

Those shadows make a very complex design - an excellent image.

VERY well shot this, Pamela. For me, V1 works better 'cos the shadows stand out behind the green.

I think photography can be bad for the health if you're too busy bending over trying to do a flower close-up that you don't realise you're toppling forward.

I love the green. If you flick quickly between the two, for a split second the green bars look purple in the b/w version. I do like these optical illusions.

Hi, Pamela, without doubt, V1, the colour adds that extra dimension to an already well observed and taken image. So simple but highly effective, really nice work, a camera club competition entry i think.
Well done.

Don't tell me photography is carrying a Government Health Warning!!! My wife has had it and she doesn't take pics but she does paint pics. Maybe its artistic creation that's the problem!!! only joking. You'll be fine. Great pic by the way. paul

I like the mono version - it confuses the eye more, and one has to look at it longer to figure it out.

Well spotted image. I prefer coloured version, because it shows the object and shadow better than V2.
