Being Frank ...

By sut68
... as only he can be!!! This is Frank, he is 88 years young and is Fran's charismatic dad and all-round good egg.

At the weekend, he and 13 other co-opted people of varying ages were to take part in a sponsored hot air balloon flight on behalf of Frank's chosen charity. As they [and we] waited for the pilot to make a decision as to whether to inflate the balloon, he took the opportunity to give the basket the once over ... just to make sure Wink

Unfortunately, it was deemed slightly too breezy this time and so they must wait for another day ... but for me this sums up Frank perfectly ... and as he would probably say, "Aye, that's right" Smile

Here's hoping that he get's 'up, up an away' next time.

Cheers for popping in,
Paul

Cheers Tom, it really was touch and go, but the gusts were what tipped it over the edge for the pilot and made it unsafe.

Thanks too David,

From your description, Paul, it sounds as if he'd take such a flight in his stride! I do hope he gets the chance. I love the enigmatic content of this image - who knows what he might have been doing had it not been for your description.

Aha but Paul surely photographs that bring us pleasure, even if we took them, and a little wry smirk to the face are worthy anywhere, EPZ or not mate :_)

Cheers big'un, yer not wrong Dave ... a shot that has the ability to make me smile usually gets my vote.

I meant that it doesn't necessarily have a strong thumbnail to help catch gallery traffic, there's no eye/facial contact whatsoever and it won't mean a lot to those who don't know him ... but the hearing aid and the flat cap are soooooo Frank and sum him up perfickly Grin

Love this Paul.

It reminds me of my late father in law who sounds very similar in his character (even darn to flat cap an' earin' aid).

These people are special - treasure them whilst you have them. I too hope he gets to fly.
