Belevedere at Sunrise (remix)

By joolsb
I guess it's a courageous decision to upload an 'improved' version of my most clicked shot but here it is, anyway.

I never really liked the unrealistic greens of the original but public opinion thought otherwise. Anyway, I went back to the tranny, rescanned it, cropped it differently and re-balanced the colours. It's now, finally, a good approximation of the slide...

See what you think.

a bit different this version though, as you've left in the sky all in all this has lovely tones and criss cross shadows with layers

Lovely composition, good high viewpoint, nice criss-crossing in the undulating landscape.
Beautfully soft light across a wonderful composition.
All the best

Nice composition, and the layers of aerial compostion work well. Still wish I could view your stuff in the larger size so I could see what you are really saying.
Oohh! Click No. 30.

to me this is a vast improvement, the layering in the image is wonderfully effective, composition is spot on and good subtle textures, Velvia rules! Smile

This is somewhere i would love to go.I have a print of this scene, taken further to the right, including a line of trees in the fg,with mist on the hills at sunrise. The photographer spent a week there, and finally got his shot on the 6th sunrise!

Thanks for the comments, gang. Much appreciated!

@Hayley: I was in the area for five days and did just the one dawn shoot so I guess I must have been pretty lucky with the weather!
