Ben Lomond?

By rowarrior
I took this photo at the David Marshall Lodge last Sunday in Aberfoyle looking towards (I'm pretty sure) Ben Lomond. I need help to try and distinguish the mountain from the trees and the sky as I just don't think it's clearly defined.

I dowloaded the CS3 trial this morning, so that's what I was trying to use (I used the convert to Black and White option). I'm going to try and upload a variant of the original in colour too.

I've adjusted levels a bit to get the resulting mod which I've uploaded (I've done a bit of cropping as well). If you post the colour version it will be possible to do a bit more, as you can adjust the RGB channels individually.

Thanks for the mod Smile I'm trying to do the colour version, but I can't see versions option right now for some reason. I've reported it, so I'm sure someone will be along presently to help Smile

In mine I followed everyone else and changed the levels. I also upped the contrast a little overall. Didn't crop it though. I could have done more to help with a colour original.

A little more contrast Katy and I really like this. Works well in B&W too. Just a case of getting the peak to stand out a little more to give it that umf!

I know this is a bit out of date, but as you've shot in RAW you should try converting the RAW to B&W and use 2 or 3 seperate exposures to darken the sky and create more contrast, while keeping the detail in the foreground.

It's sometime better to combine different exposures than to convert to B&W.
