Benbulbin Under The Cloud

By Porthos
This was not the light I was looking when I was composing this image. As I was driving to the location there was a nice bit of warm light highlighting the ridge which brought out lovely detail on the ridge. Unfortunately that didn't last long and I had to make do with the dull overcast conditions instead. However I don't think it turned out to bad asthe dull overcast conditions helped add some drama to what is really a spectacular mountain.

Now that reminds me of Yeats' last poem,

Under bare Benbulbin's head
In Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid,
An ancestor was rector there,
Long years ago, a church stands near,
By the road an ancient cross
No marble, no conventional phrase
On limestone quarried near the spot,
By his command, these words are cut

Cast a cold eye
On life, on death,
Horseman pass by
