Berlin 1985. Checkpoint Charlie, Friedrickstrasse. Taken from the western side. This view is from a wooden platform to the right of Checkpoint Charlie, showing the,'New Time Union Publishing House'.
If you look closely you can see someone at the left hand window just above the N and E. He was waving to me, I returned the wave, this photo has always had a profound effect upon me, because it shows how we take our freedom for granted. I had another photo from this vantage point which i can not find. It depicts on the wall a mural with angels and stars upon it. There is also a few words which translate to
'The angels are coming' or in German, Die Engel kommen.
