A couple on the bandstand at Bexhill's de la Warr. Shot through the blind which diffuses the light to protect the artwork. I liked the flags, the bench and the single passer by whcih balances it lending the shot a sense of symmetry.

I've mostly been shooting film of late, utterly bored with the awkwardness of digital, I'm finding it refereshing just to go out and shoot, no histograms, no white balance, no menus... I'm also very much liking the qualities of the 1970's Canon 50mm 1.8 S.C. lens this was shot with.

Good question. It has a personal meaning to me, which may not be universal. It reflects that it was taken during a difficult few days for me personally. So, on that particular day, the couple on the bandstand and the individual walking past has a resonance for me.

Hi Barry, hope you're ok, although it sounds like perhaps not...

I really like this, it feels quiet but also conveys a sense of detachment and slight confusion that we can't see everything clearly.

It must have been that London meet that got you back into the film groove...

Cheers Steve, I'm fine. Just a bad weekend!

And yes, it was the london meet that got me back in the groove with film. I've bought 3 A-series Canon SLRs and a Canonet since!!! Just need a bit more time for using them all now...
