big and beautiful!

By CarolG
I was walking round the garden yesterday and saw a very large empty spider's web amongst the conifer hedge. I waited patiently and in a while the owner appeared, this rather large and hairy spider! He was too large for me to handle, so I managed to coax him onto the conifer, where I could get a few shots. He kept trying to come onto my hand, which I was not having, just too large for me!

i just shivered and im in a different country - the spiders here in UK make me scream and mince about like a little girl so i wouldn't be good with a spider i could fall over Grin

they really are beautiful though and you have captured the detail wonderfully here. i can imagine the spider was more than happy to pose for some shots because i wouldn't be surprised if they are atleast partly vane Grin
