I like the textures in the logs John ,but find them a bit dark. I've uploaded a mod with the logs brightened and a some increase in contrast using control points in Photolab3. Hope you like it.

You would get a few Yuletide logs out these tree trunks, as they look quite dry. Great mono, John. It would not bother me having a mono Monday, as most of my entries now are in mono. I have noticed over the years I have been a member, that mono appear to be better received than colour. Are we hankering after the birth of photography period?

A well spotted scene John, lovely textures.
I do like James' mod, that extra drop of light adds so much more to this.

Now, where's my chainsaw, these would last a while on my log burner.......ooops, I dismantled it...doh !! Wink

I like the dark version, though I've done a mod that brightens the lightest areas, just using a mix of Levels and Curves.

I like mod 1, John....the log needed some brightening.....and still leaves with a dark overall photo. A lovely composition these nude logs.

I like the dof used here, John. And actually, the mod's don't make the image any better, just different.
