Pair of gannets at the nest at Bempton. Lighting quite low but does result in less problems keeping detail in the feathers of a white bird. Liked the wild flowers.

Thanks, all. Interesting result. I think the lower lighting levels helped and I tend now to go for shots with few birds in rather than larger groups. Rather more impact I think.

Probably one for an A3 print, then.

I often wonder why I see so many £8000 Canon 500mm F4 lenses at Bempton. I wonder if the results they get reflects the huge weight and cost?
