There's a negative / positive effect, dark against light, light against dark.
And yes, birches are special.
Superb. But I'd also like to see straight b&w, without the hints of blue and green which skew the balance somewhat.

Back in the '50s when i was doing my apprenticeship one of the other lads was experimenting with hydrofluric acid and glass etching. He would have loved this. I do.

I am not as old as Peter as I was doing my apprenticeship in the 60's Alan.
I was experimenting with hydrofluoric gasses and got as high as a kite !!

Aye, it's not bad ... Wink

I absolutely love it ... magical, mystical and with a hint of benevolent menace, the kind that's normally 'for your own good' Grin
It actually reminds me of a Arthur Rackham style etching for some reason, which isn't a bad thing in anyone's book!

hmmmmm.....

hmmmmmm...... hmmmmmmmmm...... Sad

well it is tough even for me.. if I can say.. but yes, can take it still.. I mean the meaning of the image.. not without another level of mental endurance, which the heat here somehow and some other factors make difficult.. The problem is - when you ask for a level more, you might disturb the poise you have now.. It creates doubts.. Further, I do take a huge pressure for the people on the other side.. for I assume there may be some people trapped on the other side of the jungle.. But anyway.. If it is required, I will carry on.. and interpret the image..

I see it a little differently now.. It is like an inferno approaching from one side, and the smoke of it somehow gently overpowering the scene and changing colors, distorting it a little..
Beautiful creamy textures softening the otherwise crisp bright silver of the birch bark.
Worth every award here once again Alan.

I'd love to have taken this and have it on my wall.
