Birling Gap

Birling Gap, East Sussex.

Originally there was a row of seven cottages but now there are only four. Following severe erosion earlier this year, several years within a few days, a third one had to be demolished after becoming less than a foot from the cliff edge.

How long before the end of terrace you see here has to follow the same fate ?

On the top of the hill is the disused Belle Tout Lighthouse, now refurbished for accommodation rental.
