Bishop Brennan

By jdenman
This is an upload for a bit of fun, a Father Ted moment from my trip out with the Woolybill's on thursday. What came to mind as soon as I saw this shot (sorry Bill), was the famous Craggy Island bit of history where Father Ted Crilly had to kick Bishop Brennan up the arse. For anyone who has not seen the situation comedy Father Ted, then I urge you to google Father Ted kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse, one of many great comedy moments from the series.
Father Ted Crilly was played by the late great Dermot Morgan, cut down in his prime and a great loss to comedy acting.
Normal service shall resume tomorrow, with more from Ashgill where this was taken.
Thanks to Bill and Moira, for heading over to my patch and being such good company for the day. When I head over to Newcastle, will have to do a country bumpkin punk in the city theme.

Hmmm, that gives me something to think about...
Great fun, very nicely composed, plus you've caught that 'bouclé wool' effect in the water that I liked.
'Down with that sort of thing'?
'Ah go on, go on, go on, go on, go on'?
'That money was just resting'?
Just need the pictures to go with the titles...

.......Here's a piece of advice my father gave to me, and this not only refers to lagging, but any form of insulation. He said, "Don't ever..." No, it was, "Always...always make sure..." No, sorry, it was "Never... " Ah, I've forgotten. What's your favourite humming noise?"

... I can only assume that the Father Ted / Bishop Brennan is comedy gold, but I had this response from You Tube: "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Channel 4" ... so I guess i'll never know. Ho hum. I can see where this is going though! Smile

Oh yes!!! You have to be a dedicated Craggy Islander to appreciate the caption, which is absolutely spot-on! Now you need the 10ft x 8ft pic of Bishop Brennan which Dougal produces as the end of that episode!. Great capture, and also my all-time favourite comedy. 'Ted, the ants are back!' :o) I needed something to make me laugh today, and this one is perfect. HDave

Bishop Facks: So, Father. Do you ever have any doubts about the religious life? Is your faith ever tested? Anything you would be worried about? Any doubts you've been having about any aspects of belief? Anything like that?
Father Dougal McGuire: Well, you know the way God made us all, right? And he's looking down at us from heaven and everything?
Bishop Facks: Uh-huh.
Father Dougal McGuire: And then his son came down and saved everyone and all that?
Bishop Facks: Yes.
Father Dougal McGuire: And when we die we're all going to go to heaven?
Bishop Facks: Yes. What about it?
Father Dougal McGuire: Well, that's the bit I have trouble with.

I understood the title but took me a few seconds to work it out, I then read your superb, if lengthy, explanation then it was clear as water. A superb upload, you really should follow it up with a picture of you really kicking him up the arse! It's just got to be done! It really has!! 100 votes guaranteed!!!

Father Ted V The Vicar of Dibley, It would be a very close indeed, two of the greatest comedies every created! Who ever thought God could be that funny - He invented camels remember!!!

I'm just off for a Drink, Feck, Girls, Arse (in that order!!!)
