Blaen-y-Glyn Falls

By ringyneck
Heading back from Llangorse on Sunday I "found" these Waterfalls in the Caer Fanell Forest. It was freezing and there were large icicles everywhere. There are so many waterfalls it was hard to choose BUT I think I missed the really special (large)one as I had to get back home.Have to re-visit sometime.

I tried all I could to get the perfect shot exposure wise BUT did not pull it off.The f/g seems fine but I kept over exposing the waterfalls. To get them decent the rest was too dark.Have to learn that HDR thing !!

Please see LARGE + F 11

Manual @ f22,10 secs,iso 100 and 25mm + circular polariser.

Superb shot, love the detail and colours, it is probably just me looking at it from the wrong angle, but could it do with being rotated a touch to the left? Still great shot though!

Lovely location this, understand the difficulties trying to achieve the correct exposure levels, apparently HDR is not suitable for any thing that moves, or so I read on Photomatix website, but downloaded the sample software free to try(with certain restrictions) the results where incredible.

You don't need HDR Keith, just two exposures, one for the water and one for the rest then combine them in PS
