Blast from the past -1905

By HobbitDave
Something different.
This is a crop from a plate camera photo 112 years old - the carriage maker lived in a nearby village, and they produced these splendid wagons. They were retailed in Minehead, 6m away, and were wonderfully detailed and well made.

Very impressive! What were they for? Those upright things must have come down to hold something in?

Various natural items, Christina, hay bales, large logs, sacks of anything from coal to potatoes....you name it Wink. Very useful as well as decorative.

A fine looking old cart, and your 'ageing' of the image in the version works very well Smile

I like your ' old album aged ' version. Canadian railways used those high load retainers in the old days for slippery cargo like dunnage bags and suicases. TG
