Blossom Sunday

By helenlinda
Blossom Sunday is a term that my 95 year old friend Marjorie introduced me to.
There is only one blossom Sunday each May and its in the week when it is at its prime. Before she lost her sight, we would always take Marjorie for a drive after church to see the trees on that day.

Well yesterday was the day!
The blossom was perfect and by next week it will be coming down. The weather however was not perfect!!

So this was taken in Bournville looking down the long avenue of cherry trees.
The whole feeling of walking down this avenue is one of being in a completely pink world. So its the big picture not the small detail I've gone for. I've kept the picture quite soft to enhance the dream like feel of it.

For those of you who can't see cherry blossom right now, I hope this brings back memories
Thanks for looking
Enjoy your Bank Holiday

Lovely expression, I haven't come across it before.
This has nicely undulating curves, in the hedge and the branches, very gentle, very Sunday.

Well planned garden, I like this term-- not heard it before, but I will remember it--

For us, right now it is crab apple blossoms!
