Blow your own trumpet

By redstag
Processed usin Photomatix to produce a tone mapped image, finished in CS2 to make more of the background.
This chap was really very good. In my imagination, he struck me as the link with the brass bands of the past from this traditional mining area.
I took the image whilst out with Nick (Vintagered) and Chris (Berrygood).
Nick also has this guy in his PF here .
Like Nick I used a long lens, partly to make the most of the DoF but mainly to avoid shoving a lens up the poor chap's hooter and putting him off.
Hope you like the slightly different approach to the same subject as Nick, thanks all for looking.

Everything about it is excellent. I especially like the colours and the blurred background.

Good candid Jon, technically he should be in what is known as a silver band I believe.
