I've been trying to photograph a male Broad Bodied Chaser for what seems ages. Unlike the females, the males have always been on the go never stopping. I have watched for hours as the males dance and chase each other seemingly indefatigable. However one day I noticed that this male kept on going back to the same leaf, close to the pond edge. The problem was, that every time you came near, he would fly off. If you waited near the place, he would not come back.
Eventually I managed to get a few shots off, without spooking him. I would like to have been closer though.
