I have the same problem when I am out with my terrier who is always running ahead of me and scaring any possible photo opportunities away. - gary

Two excellent captures of the fiesty Blue Jay, Sandy. Color & clarity "look fine," to me, Sandy. Really like V2, but V1 is a keeper, also...Peter

What a wonderful colour! Have read about these birds but reckon this is the 1st time I've actually seen one, and isn't he/she a real little performer?

V1, for character and attitude! I'd be inclined to crop off the top, down to the bottom of that branch on the right.

I think your bird shots are as good as any i've seen, never an easy subject to shoot "off the cuff" so to speak.
Love the colours.

Don't put yourself down on your bird shots, This is not a bad shot at all and is 90% clear. Bird shooting is really a camera set up on a tripod and then a sitting and waiting game. Great try Martin

Nice shot of Blue Jay with detail My only critisim on both version is the white background colour whis very distracting and spoiling the impact of this lovely image. I know you had no control changing the background at the time so, its not your fault.

Two fabulous shots, Sandy, both very well captured, but it's V1 for me if only for the pose.

You almost need to have a camera/tripod permanently set up so you're ready all the time! But that's not really practicable so, like you, I grab bird shots hand held.... but I rarely get anything as good as this! Such a great looking bird, very different from the jays we see in the UK. Love the pose in V1.

Hi sandy - wish we had them here!
I would be tempted to just clip off that bit of branch in V1 as well....bloomin' hard to photograph though so well done!!! I am rubbish with birds - I have dogs too!
