Blue Jay

By taggart
Blue Jay
Cyanocitta cristata
12 inches ( 30 cm)

Known as the ALARM of the forest, the Blue Jay is a large bright blue bird who wears a black necklace and a crest on his head.
They are non-migrators, also, one of the few birds who will cache food. Jays will "Scream like a Hawk" to scatter other birds at a feeder.

I have determined that a Blue Jay is the best defense against squirrels-- and was hoping to capture them chasing the squirrels away--

Another time , maybe.........................Ever see a squirrel tremble?

He's a beauty Jenn. Sharp details and great colorl. They may scare squirrels away, but not so much cats - and the blue jays don't always seem to know the difference between them. I watched one repeatedly swoop down to taunt a cat, and the cat was playing it cool (like a cat), just waiting for the jay to come a few inches closer the next time. I was sure that if I kept on watching, I was going to watch it become a tasty snack.

watcha Jennifer,
excellent shot, well seen and taken.

'I think it would be very exciting to watch these wonderful tones emerge from the wet stuf' yes, it is, and nerve wracking, you over expose in the enlarger then under develope in overdiluted lith developer, you can be watching the thing for 1/2 an hour waiting for the tones to reach the snatch point, fun thoughSmile this is where the darks are as you want them, infectious developement, as the darks darken they darken faster, you have to be really alert.
