Blue Serenity

By Arvorphoto
An evening on the beach at Bedruthan Steps where the sunset failed to live up to expectations, resulting in a threatening sunset with lots of steely blues, and has come better than anticipated and hopefully transmits a sense of serenity before the storm (which arrived shortly after and was very wet).

Shame about the footsteps in the sand.

Another nice shot, - like the tones. As with the other shot, this benefits with some more contrast, and perhaps a crop off the left as in the mod.

Nice shot, good colour. I did the same as Willie and altered the contrast using curves as well as cropping down the left hand side and the bottom to remove the footprints which I found a bit of a distraction. Hope you like the mod.

Both quite reasonable, but I don't find the rocks terribly interesting. Just me, but the proverbial silhouetted figure would have made this.

I prefer your mod here Graham.
I won't make one of my own as I'd just go down much the same route.
Obviously, it's intentional but I find the blueness a bit too much.

I like this and think some of the comments above are a little harsh to be honest. The crop of the left works well and it could do with a tiny bit more contrast but not as much as in either of the mods. If there are flats on either end of the Histogram I'd just pull the Levels slides in until they meet the graph proper and that should do it. Different thing do it for different people but I like the rocks and would have been happy to photograph this scene myself. The blue cast also looks natural to me as I'm assuming it was well after sunset?
