I think it works great Steve, the blue is lovely and bright and really makes those flowers stand out ! x

I think these would have been better shot from a lower angle so that a little more of the flower detail cpuld be seen

I think you have a nice image here if you crop it differently and, maybe, clone out the white stick in the background. =)

Thanks Kim, Lois, Mark and Carmen. I took this at the beginning of last summer before I'd learnt anything about composure etc. I think I was experimenting with the macro lens if I remember rightly. It was shot in full colour, converted to to B/W in Photoshop with a copy of the original photo on a seperate layer and used the eraser tool to colourise the flower. It was a 10 min job. Woulda 'shopped out the white bit if I spent more time on it. I didn't crop it as a slight 'circle' of focus around it and I thought it looked pretty cool.

[edit] I thought more about the cloning thing and decided to give it a go. Clicky here
