This is a difficult photo for me. The light contrast was very strong, I just loved the boat on the sparking water and the back light against the houses.. I saw the boat was coming when it was in front of the light house,I didn't have much time to be prepared, and had no time to check the histogram. I was amazed by the speed of the boat, so the only solution for me was to change the shutter speed from S 350-8000 in about two minutes' time for 7 frames.. to see what I could get after the boat had gone. S350 is a bit flat and 'boring', S8000 is too dark to be bothered to brighten it up. This is the middle one about S2000. I used the screen layer to brighten up the houses, the sparking water is not as good as I saw...I'd like to have your thought about the image.. anything, shooting, PS work..etc. Maybe, this is another image that one shot can't cover the whole light range.. I need to use the faster shutter speed one to cover the high light(sparking water). I'll upload the original on MOD section for you to have a look, or a better MOD than this one. Thanks for looking, all comments, criticisms&MODs are welcome.
BTW, the photo was taken at Whitby.
