Hello, maybe you had the focus set incorrectly. Focus on infinity and with a small aperture everything should be in focus from a few feet away. But I notice there is a slight haze in the distance which may make it look unsharp.
Also you have the horizon straight across the centre of the picture, I would have cut the sky off just above the clouds as there is no interest there.
Hope this helps a bit and good luck.

As Sausage has said you need to have your focus on infinity and your lens on F22 at least to make sure that you have everything in focus. When I use a tripod I always use a release cable as well just to ensure the camera doesn't move.
I have done you a mod which has taken away a few bits and pieces.
I hope this helps.
Graham.

Hi Andy, this looks like your first upload so welcome to ephotozine. I am a beginner myself and have learned loads from this website in just a few months. You do right to post in the critique gallery as you will get some excellent feedback. Just remember to post your camera settings as it helps with the critique process. I think your question has been answered above so I will offer a couple of suggestions regarding the image: the horizon ought to be one third from the top of the frame to provide better balance to the scene; the sky is a little flat and needs a boost. I have therefore offered a mod where I have cropped the sky and then darkened it using a levels adjustment, all in PS Elements 7.
I hope you like the mod and I look forward to your next upload. I am sure you will enjoy your time on epz.
Phil
