Bolton tops the charts for Coronavirus infections

By philtaylorphoto
Always a tricky thing to display, the local paper just goes with a stock shot of the hospital and Coronavirus.

Bolton town hall is iconic, and was featured in my coverage in the Guardian earlier in the week. To work it needs the defining things, town hall, masks and signage.

Makes a change from the hospital and testing.

The burst of sunshine gives it a bit of a Martin Parr feel.

Yes, the Martin Parr vibe comes through loud and clear, Phil.

On the previous frame there was a seagull on the bridge, and a group of women In curly perms and padded shoulders. The hill had no mask on, so ditched that shot.

It's THAT lens, photographing a bridge again. No sales on this one today.

I'm mystified why this photo has racked up 21 votes, not my usual drama stuff.

A good deal of visual impact, including pretty colours!

Well, today it made Mirror, Metro, Star and France24. I really wanted a broadsheet.

Ot's become the Mirror's go to shot for Bolton stuff. It's been used that many times I'm now bored with it.

Thankfully the infection rate has fallen, let's hope it stays that way.

Yes indeed.

A dose of commonsense all round would be nice, and a recognition that the scientists:

1 know more than the rest of us, DC included;
2 don't know everything; and
3 know that they don't know everything...
