Bolts from the blue.

Taken a few years back in Crete - and sat on my hard drive since! I've never been convinced by the solid black FG (the underexposed sea), but its a technique I have seen used by others and thought - what the hell.

Lesson for all those who like photographing storms - look behind you. Within minutes of taking this a bolt of lightening hit very close to where I was standing. I'm lucky it wasn't little old me...

Looks great, Adam and the black strip gives it a very arty, abstract feel.

Nothing wrong with the black... there's no need for detail there, and it keeps the attention where it's supposed to be.
