Love the pose.
Your processing is a big improvement. Its a bit dark for me, and I think thats because you tried too hard to get that straw to have detail at the expense of the Chimp.
I was wondering why, since you setting look sensible, that the shot was so bright. I have an idea, but first I would love to know if you shot this through glass?
I used your camera shot for a mod and focused entirely on the Chimp, mainly bringing the black level wat down, and very little else. Sharpness and detail are good.
Regards
Willie

The original exposure is a good deal over: I suspect that Manual is the reason... I use it, but only when I am sure that it will give me a more correct exposure than Aperture priority.
I am interested in how you chose the exposure to set, as Willie is interested in whether you shot through glass.
I would be tempted to crop even tighter, to exclude the tyres almost ocmpletely: or, indeed, shoot at a longer focal length, with the camera on end for a portrait format.

Looking at the original, compared with your main upload, I think you used Darken highlights as well as exposure adjustment, to get back the detail in the straw. You did good job there, but after such adjustments it is often best to add back some brightness and apply some very gentle dodge and burn. Otherwise the result can look rather flat. I shall have a quick go at that.
Also worth taking out that white dot on the elbow, this I think is where light has caught a bit of dust and resizing the file has exaggerated it.

This is a nice image. I downloaded your Lead image. Increased exposure by +0.83 in lightroom and then added contrast and clarity using the contrast slider and tone curve. I increased vibrance and saturation some but all this left your subject looking a little blue so I de-saturated blue. A little sharpening to finish.

Your image as presented is not bad at all. You have done well to correct such over exposure. I would crop tighter as John has done bur most of the other mods are far too bright on the background? Your effort is better!
How are you determining your manual settings? I use manual but usually only with a hand held meter, a modern Sekonic which I use with the incident dome. You must interpret readings correctly and the black of the Chimp is likely to have thrown your reading. With modern gear, best shot on an auto setting, check the result, compensate if necessary and shoot again.
You have done well to get such a sharp image at sch a low shutter speed.
