Boxing monkey

By Marioks
Took this photo near the Ao Nang beach. There lives a pack of wild monkeys who expect some treats from people in exchange for some photos Smile

Hi Marioks, I know it is hard to get sometimes what you want from animals, but at least this one looks it posed for you. Because of his hair colour looks similar to the rocks behind him, I would have preferred to shot him from a diagonal position, putting the green plants as background. The current aperture, although it blurs the rocks doesn't quite seperate him from the background, I would dare to go to the widest aperture available and shoot him. In other ways it is a good still image and well focused as well.

I understand what you mean. This one was a matter of seconds. Overall the background was mainly rocks and monkey started scratching eye, saw that bang and got it. I can't say it is flawless, but really made me and my wife smile after I saw on back of the screen. Thank you for your comment. I'm still a beginner in photography, so every comment helps, because as I will shoot next shot I will try to take into consideration more and more.

Its a nice candid shot. You have the monkey off centre, and his face is focused and sharp. The pose is amusing.

I would suggest a minor crop to remove the right black stone and area, keeping the monkey on a third, as in the mod.

Good isn't it . . . ?

My first thought was also to crop it.
I'd go for a heavier, square crop though.

Nice amusing image. High quality. I like it. I would crop though. It would leap in imapact by, whilst retaining the left handd composition, coming in much closer on the face.
