Saturday shadows from Beamish.
(The Tanfield series will resume on Monday).
Thanks for looking,
Wonderful textures in that curly ironwork, Moira, and great shadows as the background. Carol
Excellent close up with great texture and shadows Moira !!
An excellent capture Moira with a lovely texture and shadows on the background
Lovely textures and shadows Moira.
. Great minds. Had to smile at your use of camera terminology in the title.
Have you used mono to disguise the rust and concentrate on the shapes and shadows? Mick will be upset if you have. I do like your use of the corner metal as a frame.
Excellent Texture - Good Image!!
This is lovely, the mimicked shadow concealed within the bokeh of the image.
Beamish is indeed a photographers playroom. A beautifully observed curvaceous textured form which for me works quite superbly in monochrome.
This is very very good Moira and also very clever. It's also framed wonderfully (must remember what you did there !).Iam certainly learning stuff through your images Moira so thanks
Beautifully composed Moira , and with a wonderfully gritty B&W conversion that fits the subject.
Beautiful MONO, Moira.Wonderfully framed image.. I always like the old metal work, the craft man's work is beautiful..they are everywhere, but we don't 'see' them much.
BTW, thank you for the comments on the 'dummies' .
Superb shadow shot in mono, Moira! I love the shapes!
The title alone is worth a vote Moira
Great shadow, they remind me of musical notes........Sandy
Thanks to everyone who has called in here while we were out this morning, and particularly to people who have noticed the background shadows, the framing and the title. (I was rather pleased with all three... )
Quote: Have you used mono to disguise the rust and concentrate on the shapes and shadows?
Well not necessarily the former but certainly the latter.
I will admit to a certain amount of trickery to get that right angle top left. I thought it was worth it.
Wonderful texture on this lovely curvey - and I like the echo-ing shadows.
Square crop works beautifully, with very good use of partial framing on the top and left hand side. Excellent tones, textures and bokeh, repeating spiral shapes and the background spirals echoing the shape of the in focus wrought iron.
A fine shot, Moira, lots of lovely curls and shadows here!
Lovely textures and shadows Moira! A great find.
The depth in this is not immediate apparent, Moira. I have re-visited several times and see something new each time. I have deliberately refrained from reading the comments until I self have posted (as I often do), and see that I have discovered what some others have, namely the mimicked effect in the background, which at first take are overshadowed (no pun) by the eye automatically concentrating on the wrought iron in the fg.
(I remember making these curvy forms in 3rd year metalwork)
An image more intricate than seen at first glance.
I love the texture in the foreground - the shadows are for me a bonus which works very well Moira.
Been there today! Great image.
Very clever, Moira, it's obvious that you wanted to get this just right, and it is.
Love the curves Moira and agree with all of the above re the shadows, processing and title!
Ohhh...wonderful tendrily shadows, Moira
Love your composition and title too
Like the texture and details of the ironwork.
