Bradford on Avon

By Glostopcat
Some more photographs from my holiday on the Kennet & Avon Canal last week. These were all taken in the picturesque town of Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire where we spent the Sunday. V1 shows the Foxterrier going through the lock at Bradford on Avon. Luckily for the crew there were no more locks for another 12 miles until we had passed Bath.

Another excellent set, Ed, must be very peaceful and relaxing drifting along the waterways, until you come to a lock or two, that is! Well captured, like the composition of V.3 very much. Carol

My Great-Uncle was a bargee and only used a sail as a young lad I would travel with him and he never spoke but just sang hymns.
The problem was lowering the sail when we approached a bridge.

Fine work.

Barges suggest warm summer leisure days, so nice to see. Vs 3 and 4 are, however, very attractive.

More brilliant captures, I love the scenery of V3 and V4. It's good to see the boat being so well steered into the lock, I try and try but can never go straight in.....we can always tell how badly I've done by the amount of cupboards I manage to get open inside the boat. We've learnt our lesson and always put the TV on the floor before we set off!
