Brambles and wayward shadows

By mrswoolybill
This is the picture that I was actually aiming for... (See last Saturday ).
What struck me was that due to the angle of the light, the shadows don't seem to relate directly to the real leaves...
Thanks for looking,

Obviously a young Shadow Being, the more experienced ones tend to mimic things almost perfectly.

One of this photo's charms is that the shadows don't seem to "match" their objects, as you point out, requiring the viewer to bear down and puzzle them out---a very good thing, this lingering over a photo, especially in our A.D.D.-causing "environment" flooded with images daily.

Yep, that's the one, Moira.

At first glance it was not obvious that one set of leaves was a shadow.

Just back from The Toon, thanks everyone and thanks to Ollie and Alfie for the UAs.
I like the idea of a young, inexperienced shadow...

Very unusual shadow particularly that of the middle leaves...If i think about the direction of light, the middle one is quite puzzling...I like it, excellently observed...

I've found that shadows have a life of their own.

There seems to be limitless possibilites of shadows from the same subject. Like this version, without the figure distracting from the leaves and their shadows 👍

It's so difficult to get good shadows these days, they all seem to have their own minds...

Interesting that a few other people see shadows as having a mind of their own. Thanks folks. And thanks Somnath for the UA.
