Very nice angle, Richard, these locks are wonderful examples of engineering excellence.
Any idea when this was actually built, and is the tower the Lock Keepers abode?
My preference is colour for this image, reminds me of days spent helping the lock keeper
on the River Cam during school holidays.

Impressive capture, Richard, and I'm torn between the two: whilst I tend to favour the colour version, there's no doubt the B and W lead shot shows off the contrast that much more effectively.

A great viewpoint you selected, Richard, it shows off very well the complete workings of the locks. Is the ramp on the left for horses pulling the barges, in years past? I think I am a colour voter, although mono is running neck and neck!

I'm watching a series about a chap living on a narrowboat, and touring around canals - it's been on TV before, but it's interesting to watch again and see the different places visited. A super viewpoint and capture here, Richard, suits mono, but loving it in colour too 😃👍🏻

Very well done Richard, mono is the way to go for a strong image with a moody overtone which explains why my colour images of this location never quite made the mark.
